Beliefs

God

We believe God is the Creator of heaven and earth who has always been and always will be. He is omniscient (all-knowing), omnipotent (all-powerful) and omnipresent (always present). He holds all things together and He is intricately and sovereignly involved in our lives. We believe He is one God who represents Himself in the form of the Trinity – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is unchanging – completely righteous, holy, and just, as well as completely loving, merciful, and full of compassion and kindness. (Exodus 34:5-7, Psalm 33:11-13, Psalm 50:6, Psalm 116:5, Isaiah 46:9-10, 1 Corinthians 8:6, Revelation 4:11)

Jesus

We believe Jesus is the Son of God, representing God in flesh, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a perfect, blameless life and was fully God and fully man. Though He was without sin, He was put to death on a cross where He bore the sins of the world in order to make provision for people to have a right relationship with God through the forgiveness of sins. Three days after He was crucified, He rose to life and showed Himself to His disciples and many of His followers before ascending to heaven, where He now sits at the right hand of God the Father. (Matthew 1:18-25, Matthew 3:16-17, John 1:1-18, John 14:6-11, Colossians 1:14-20, 2 Corinthians 5:21)

Holy Spirit

We believe that God’s Word prophesied, and Jesus Himself promised, that the Holy Spirit would indwell those who have trusted in Christ for their salvation. He is our Counselor, our Comforter and our Keeper. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin and empowers believers to war against our flesh, walk in obedience, and hope in God’s promises as we persevere the trials and tribulations of this life. (Ezekiel 36:26-27, John 14:26, John 16:7-15, Romans 8:26, Romans 15:13, Acts 2:38, Ephesians 1:13)

The Bible

We believe the Bible is God’s Word given to man by the revelation and power of the Holy Spirit. We believe it is eternal, alive and active, unchanging, and infallible. We believe it is the source of absolute truth about God and man and that it is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness so that we may be equipped for every good work. (John 17:17, 1 Peter 1:23-25, Hebrews 4:12, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21)

Salvation

We believe that we are all born sinners and in need of a Savior, and that salvation is in Jesus Christ alone. Through His death and resurrection, God offers the free gift of salvation to all. It is not earned through good works or adherence to the Law, but by faith in Christ’s sacrifice which made atonement for the sins of the world to all who believe. Jesus calls us to repent of our sins and turn to God who is faithful and just to forgive us. We believe that accepting salvation brings us into a right relationship with God, through the blood of Jesus, and that the Holy Spirit seals us as His children, producing a desire to die to our flesh and walk in the newness of life! (John 5:24, Acts 2:38, Acts 4:12, Romans 6:23, Romans 10:9, Galatians 2:20, Ephesians 2:8-9, 1 Peter 3:18, 1 John 1:8-9)
